Scientists using a quantum-powered haloscope have advanced the search for dark matter axions by probing higher mass ranges than before. The QUAX collaboration’s experiment, based in Italy, uses a microwave cavity and a strong magnetic field to detect faint axion signals. While no axions were found, the results help refine future dark matter searches.
